Atlanta Symphony Orchestra announces free summer concert in Piedmont Park


More than four decades after the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra first performed in Piedmont Park, the local symphony has announced plans to continue the tradition.

“A Performance in the Park,” a free outdoor concert, will take place in the park on June 15. No tickets are required for this event. ‘

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform work from David Bowie, Tchaikovsky and more as a part of the show’s “Sing and Dance” theme.  Assistant conductor Joseph Young will lead the orchestra.

Bring food, drinks and a blanket to set up a picnic at Piedmont Park’s Oak Hill for the concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Arrive early if you’re hoping to have an unobstructed view of the stage.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has performed more than 100 concerts at Piedmont Park since 1976.
